Over the past several years across America, we’ve seen law enforcement officers attacked, for simply doing their job. A once unthinkable and largely indiscriminate disrespect and abandonment has left Americans less safe. We’ve seen cities like St. Louis, Chicago, and Portland devolve into near anarchy, with little to no support for local law enforcement. Politically motivated prosecutors seek to criminalize police behavior in the name of “justice” as they let violent criminals walk, unilaterally decriminalize drugs, and embrace irresponsible bail “reform.” This, the work of activists, not independently minded neutrals elected to impartially and faithfully apply and enforce the law—as written by those elected for that singular purpose.
We’re local citizens who are proud of our police.
We’re seeing KC become more like high crime Chicago and other radically anti-police cities every day. That’s unacceptable and we’re motivated to see a change. We want to turn the tide in Kansas City, ensuring that law enforcement is supported as they patrol our streets, encouraged to act like police, proactively searching out crime and not merely responding to 911—and doing so without fear of politically-motivated prosecution. During this leadership transition at the department, we want a similarly highly qualified police chief. While others want to DEFUND the police, we want to see an INCREASE in funding to restore our ranks and ensure our officers and support staff have the resources they need to continue to evolve, learn, support, serve and protect. We expect our police to do more with less; it’s time we gave them to tools to be what we demand.
